It’s about helping people feel confident, valued, and cared for. This is the story of how a small home salon became a Perth institution.

Our founder Helen didn’t set out to build a beauty empire. She started her career as a secretary, then worked in a bank — nothing about her early path pointed toward skincare. But at 19, she discovered a passion that would define the next four decades of her life.
Back then, beauty salons weren’t in shopping centres. They were small home businesses, or tucked inside gyms. Every weekend, while working full-time, Helen travelled from the country into Perth to complete her beauty diploma. It took nearly two years — but she knew she’d found something she loved.
She opened her first salon at the back of her own home, raising two young boys at the same time. Then, during a training trip, she heard something that changed everything: in America, beauty salons were opening inside shopping centres.
In that moment, Helen knew beauty should be available to everyone. That vision became Skindeep — one of Perth’s first shopping-centre beauty salons, opened when her children were just three and five.

Helen, Founder
When someone walks into one of our treatment rooms, they’re rarely just looking for better skin. They’re looking to feel heard, understood, cared for. Our therapists are trained to be more than technicians — they listen, encourage, and support, so every client leaves feeling lighter than when they arrived.
Many of our therapists joined us as apprentices straight out of school, and years later, they’re
still part of the Skindeep family. We don’t simply hire experienced therapists — we develop
them.

Every decision we make has to pass one test. If it doesn’t benefit all three, we don’t do it.

Every treatment, every recommendation, built around what genuinely helps.

A culture where our team can build careers they love, not just jobs.
Thirty-five years ago, Skindeep started as one small salon at the back of a home. Today, seeing the next generation — including Helen’s own daughter — carry that vision forward is one of our proudest achievements.
